On a recent summer unplanned foodie road trip, we found ourselves in Hackettstown, NJ. Located about 35 minutes outside NYC in Warren County. It's not a first-time visit for us due to the love of two local restaurants that a yearly regular visit is in order to get our fix of some of our favorites. Mamas, an Italian Restaurant featuring extensive gluten-free and vegan menus. Here you can indulge in some fabulous food that you simply cannot find just anywhere gluten-free when dining out. From gluten-free lobster ravioli, mozzarella sticks, real homemade pasta, and pizzas. The list is extensive, super flavorful, and authentic to the Italian cuisine you loved before having to go gluten-free.
Our other favorite restaurant in Hackettstown is Fujiyama, a superior sushi restaurant with the most unique designer rolls that I have ever seen. Not only is the list of unique sushi rolls a few pages long, but they also pack an impressive combination of ingredients combination. So it was only natural on our wedding anniversary we woke up and immediately when thinking about a place to dine on our anniversary Fujiyama for sushi was both our first choice.
After devouring sushi for lunch we headed over to this great farmers market around the corner Donaldson. It is definitely a popular place with tho locals as you can immediately tell when you pull into their parking lot. We scored a couple of great foodies finds there. One of there was this beautiful log of R&G orange ginger goat cheese. Hand crafted and made in small batches the flavor of subtle citrus & ginger undertones with a super creamy texture. If you can get your hands on a log of this goat cheese I highly recommend you try it.
