I am about to tell you a story of a treat so delicious that once you taste one, you will want them every night. Heather experimented with stuffed blossoms in the summer of 2019, and they were delicious. However, this summer she discovered an Incredible blossom and combined it with goat cheese and crab meat. It intrigues you first with its crunch, making your teeth do the Cha-cha. Then the cheese starts a Salsa on your tongue. Finally, the crab makes your taste buds do the PeeWee Herman Tequila dance. if you’re not a fan of crab, I’m sure you could easily substitute another protein such as shrimp or shredded chicken.
I‘ll let Heather give the recipe when I’m done. But it begins with the blossoms of Costata Romanesca Squash. We grew them for the first time this summer because Heather learned their blossoms are favored in Italy. The blossoms are large and delicious and easy to stuff. You can use blossoms from other squash or zucchini if needed. Pick them when they’re fully open and stuff them within a day for best result. Heather can list the rest of the ingredients and methods, but they are well worth the effort. Your friends and family will cry for more.
