Cranberry Old Fashioned

Nothing says Christmas more than something with the words Old Fashioned in them. This classic cocktail gets a little holiday twist with cranberry simple syrup infused with fresh rosemary. Garnish with fresh cranberry skewers, grab your sweetheart and curl up to a rolling fire. This cocktail pairs fabulously with a great brie or goat cheese recipe.

RECIPE:

CRANBERRY OLD FASHIONED

Makes: 1 cocktail

Prep Time: 5 Minutes

INGREDIENTS:

6 oz whiskey

1 oz Cranberry Simple Syrup

1 sprig of fresh rosemary for garnish

1 teaspoon cranberry compote leftover from cranberry simple syrup (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

1. Chill whiskey glass.

2. Add 1 large square ice cube to glass.

3. Pour whiskey into chilled glass.

4. Add simple syrup and gently stir.

5. Garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig and optional cranberry compote.

6. Serve

Notes: I highly recommend purchasing a set of large rubber square ice cube trays for serving any whiskey drink. The larger ice cubes provide a less watered-down beverage.
