Bourbon Bacon Wrapped Rampicante Sticks

Updated: Jul 28, 2022

If there was one new thing that we grew in our garden last year that we and everyone else who grew one from us is our Zucchino Rampicante. They kept growing, and growing, and didn't stop until our first real frost. This super producer variety kept giving us great tasting squash by the handfuls that anytime someone visited we made sure they went home with one. And the feedback was always the same, "The best tasting summer squash we ever had".

Our Zucchino Rampicante Hanging In Our Garden

This variety of squash works great on a trellis, but make sure it's made of strong metal or wood as its weight of them could cause your trellis to collapse mid-season under its pressure of them. We built a beautiful cathedral-shaped trellis from pvc pipes which crashed in August. We hopefully will be redesigning a stronger version of this trellis this year to recreate the great tunnel effect in our garden.
